The NEB Local Chapter Emilia Romagna aims to promote a sustainable and inclusive transformation of the territory, acting as a driver of positive change, creating a more prosperous future for all communities in the region, in line with the values ​​and objectives of the New European Bauhaus, with an integrated and innovative approach. 

Connecting Cities and Peripheral Areas through the values ​​of the NEB …

Our aim is to facilitate the connection and cooperation between urban and peripheral areas / internal areas, of Emilia Romagna, recognizing the importance of:

  • Strengthening relationships and synergies between the urban and peripheral dimensions, promoting circular and intergenerational cultural, economic-social collaboration;
  • Supporting the development of infrastructures, services and architectures that improve the quality of life, contributing to the ecological and digital transition with new / different forms of living and enhancing local traditions and creativity;
  • Supporting the regeneration processes of urban and peripheral areas, with particular attention to the cultural dimension as an enabling factor for sustainable and fair transformation, and a basis for involving local communities in participatory transformative processes that develop a sense of belonging and care for the territory;
  • Promoting initiatives that encourage sustainable tourism, the resources of our Apennines and the Po plain, enhancing biodiversity, local excellence and creating economic opportunities for communities
  • Encouraging more sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture with the aim of continuing to produce excellence and safeguard the landscape, thanks to activities combining tradition, education, sales and tourism.

Thanks to the diversity of our partners, we adopt an integrated approach to address the complex challenges of our regional ecosystem and respond to the new needs of communities with participatory actions and methodologies:

  • Promoting sustainable and innovative practices in agriculture, construction and urban planning, respecting natural cycles and enhancing local natural resources;
  • Integrating technological and digital solutions to improve the efficiency, resilience and sustainability of our infrastructures and communities;
  • Preserving and enhancing cultural and natural heritage, promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles that foster conviviality and collective well-being;
  • Developing a network of local actors such as public institutions, universities, research centers, architectural firms, businesses, non-profit organizations, local communities and citizens, to co-design and implement innovative and sustainable solutions;
  • Stimulating the activation of living Labs and innovation hubs to experiment and spread practices of cultural and ecological regeneration, social innovation and sustainable development but also events, workshops, conferences and hackathons to promote active participation and the exchange of knowledge between the various stakeholders and between communities, encouraging the adoption of sustainable and circular practices and the creation of new business models.
