NEB Chapters connect European territories

NEB Local Chapter Emilia-Romagna is one of the NEB Chapters created in Europe, with the common aim to make NEB values of inclusion, sustainability and aesthetic real experiences in the local contexts. The Chapters are in contact among them to share ideas and experiences, but also proposing ways to have stronger impact in the cross-regional NEB Community. The common goal is to place NEB Chapters at the center of decisions, as collaborative platforms that bring together public, private and citizen entities to work in cities and regions, making this aspiration possible.

In October 14-15 the representatives of Chapters were in Brussels for the European Week of Regions and Cities, and Emilia-Romagna Chapter was there, represented by Paola Valandro, Project Manager of ART-ER S. cons. p. a. 

On October 15, the workshop EU NEB Local Chapters: Shaping the Future of the New European Bauhaus at Local Level Together – Participatory Lab, more than 50 participants shared their ideas on the role of Chapters and how they can support local policies in the NEB perspective. The event was enriched by relevant speakers such as Marcos Ros Sempere from the European Parliament; Borut Cink, policy officer of the European New Bauhaus Unit of the JRC; and Paola Valandro representing the EU NEB Chapters. The workshop was moderated by María Huertas of EuroVértice (LC Murcia) and supported by Patrik Karlsson Ryberg of RISE (representing LCs of Sweden) and Alessandro Rancati (LC Brussels). Representatives of the newborn LC of Oslo was there, at it was a great moment to meet together in person. 

On October 14 the EU Chapters group met with the NEB Unit of the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Commission’s research center, to discuss the future of NEB chapters in Europe.

The EU NEB Chapters continue to move forward to give impulse and strength collaboration among regions and with the European level
